Murder in the Cathedral

interrogating suspects

It brought 70 young people from across the Wakefield Episcopal Area into Wakefield Cathedral on Friday night.

Divided into teams, they had to work together to play detective, find clues, interrogate suspects,(see left)  and find the evidence to unmask the murderer.

There were large games and small crafts on hand too as well as milk shakes, chocolate fountain, slush and pizza for tea.

Each team had to mime a Bible story – and we had The Good Samaritan, Feeding the Five Thousand, David and Goliath, Walking on Water and the winning mime was Noah’s Ark.

Worship was provided by the Canon Precentor, the Revd Leah Vasey Saunders and the Revd Mark Vasey Saunders led and wrote the Murder Mystery. Thanks to all our suspects..!!

Wakefield’s Community of All Saints next youth event is the Big Night Out in May 20th. Bishop Tony would like to take a coach to this Christian youth event at Lightwater Valley if there is sufficient interest. The coach would leave Church House Wakefield at 12 noon and return around 10pm. Register your interest by emailing Caroline.asquith@leeds.anglican.org before the end of March.
